I got the brainy idea of running with this block and getting the September Take It Further out of it. I used the colors Sharon chose by way of the floss. A check mark is what I like to see most on any list and with luck, by months end I'll have been able to mark off several things that I've been planning to do.
Back tracking to August today and working on the Balance block along with a few other things

I love what you did with your bits of thread. As soon as I read your post yesterday I just had to try it. I used some chopped up pieces of fancy yarn, but I found that the netting didn't stick down mainly because there was not a lot of backing showing. But, nevertheless, I think I will be able to cut out some shapes to look like flowers, but I will sew around before I cut. I'll take a photo of what mine looks like and post it in my blog. It's exciting to tackle something new! Thanks for sharing.
This is just so interesting. You could develop this idea and take it waaatyyyy out there! I particularly like the hand stitching contrasted with the fused threads.
I sent you an blogger message yesterday in the middle of the game right when the Lions were in the lead and told you I would send you a giftie if the Lions won.
But for some reason, blogger never sent it to you...so thankfully you weren't more disappointed than you already were!
Your Creative CQ piece is highly interesting and looks like one of the experiments that really worked. Pretty soon all us CQ'ers will be turning into "Mad Scientists" with Frankenstein quilts!
Yay! The experiment worked so beautifully. I love these textile seams on crazy blocks.
Those seams are just wonderful! There's so much you can do with that.
hugz:)
